The Anambra State Commissioner of Police, CP Nnanna Oji Ama, has urged residents to report suspicious activities and other security concerns directly to him through a dedicated WhatsApp line provided by the command.
The number, 09169531886, is intended to enable residents to share credible security information, report concerns and request police intervention, according to a statement issued on Monday by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga.
Ikenga disclosed that the Commissioner reiterated the availability of the dedicated line on Monday, October 19, 2026, while hosting the Association of All Chairmen of 3-3 Estate and the Association of Non-Indigenes in Anambra State.
The meeting, according to him, was aimed at strengthening communication between the police and residents, discussing security concerns and identifying areas of cooperation in preventing crime across the state.
During the engagement, CP Ama urged residents, irrespective of their ethnic, cultural or geographical backgrounds, to remain security-conscious and promptly report suspicious activities to the police.
He also encouraged community members and their associations to provide credible information that could assist security agencies in identifying and responding to potential threats.
The commissioner reassured non-indigenes living and conducting legitimate businesses in Anambra State of the command’s commitment to protecting lives and property, upholding the rule of law and ensuring their safety.
According to the police spokesman, CP Ama emphasized that residents could use the dedicated WhatsApp channel to communicate security concerns and request intervention, urging the public to use it responsibly to facilitate timely responses and appropriate action.
The Command also called on estate associations, non-indigenes, community leaders and other residents to sustain their cooperation with security agencies, noting that timely information and collective responsibility were important to preventing crime and maintaining peace across Anambra State.
