Ahead of Anambra State Local Government elections, transporters, market women and some other groups have endorsed the incumbent Mayor of Idemili South, Hon. Amaka Obi for a second tenure through opinion poll conducted yesterday, Wednesday, February 4 across the communities in the LGA.
The opinion poll of the people of Idemili South underscores total confidence in Hon. Amaka Obi’s leadership and strengthens calls for continuity.

Speaking to newsmen at Nnobi, the Local Government coordinator of tricycle drivers (Keke Napep) Mr. Ikenna Okeke, said Iyom Ifeabata had done so much for the people of Idemili South and deserves to be applauded.

According to him, Hon. Mrs. Obi has done marvellously well more than men, starting from day one she assumed office till date. He said Iyom has proven to be worthy of second tenure, which he assured that the group give their maximum support to actualize.
Similarly speaking, Okeke Obiora, Chairman of Okada riders, Nnobi Unit, said they welcomed Iyom’s leadership, adding that she fought for them when they were accused of selling fake tickets.

“We are free now, performing our tasks without intimidation, all thanks to our capacity leader, Hon. Amaka Obi.
“Iyom has done a lot for our people. There is tight security in Idemili South. We now feel at home going about our business without fear of the unknown. She is indeed a woman of integrity and has all our support for her second tenure aspiration,” he assured.
Uche Nebeuwa, Onyenze GUO, the Chairman of Transporters in Idemili South said Iyom has done a lot for the entire people of Idemili South, especially transporters.

“She has empowered so many of our youths, equipped our schools and health centers, light up our streets and many more. In fact, Iyom has our support for second tenure,” he stated.
He further disclosed that Iyom’s administration has restored dignity in transportation, adding that through her, Mr Governor, Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo recognised them.
In Awka-Etiti, market women were seen hailing Iyom, chanting different solidarity songs, including “Iyom for second tenure”, in their show of support for her re-election.
Speaking, one of the market women, Christiana Odimegwu, who scored Iyom excellent, expressed her gratitude to Iyom Amaka Obi for putting smiles on their faces, emphasizing that women should be given more leadership positions because of their motherly heart.

Others who spoke in interviews with newsmen, including Mr Confidence Udechukwu, secretary of Nnobi Association of Keke Napep Drivers; Victor Okoye, Tax force; Nwafor Juliana, Ujunwa Agu Cornerstone, and Oriaku Njideka Obi from Eke Awka-Etiti, among others praised Iyom for making them to smile again.


According to them, Iyom is a true definition of a good leader, and should continue her good works.
