An Anambra-based Anglican clergy and police officer, Rev. Dr. Chidiebere Enukora-Nwobi has dropped what could be best described as a bombshell, as he accused and revealed the parishes of his fellow priests who allegedly engaged in various types of atrocities, ranging from sexual immorality to defilement of a minor and performance of fake miracles.
Rev. Enukora, popularly known as Ike Nawfia na Umunri, made the revelation while preaching at a burial ceremony recently held in a community in Anaocha local government area of the state.
The clergy, in the ‘brutal’ funeral homily, expressed his discomfort over how some people who call themselves servants of God commit different types of iniquities, even inside the church, and still come out to preach holiness.
He particularly expressed worry about how some church leaders and parishioners shield some of the priests who allegedly indulge in such acts that are unworthy and unbefitting of a priest.

Being specific, the priest cited instances of some of the priests who had allegedly indulged in such condemnable acts, beginning with Emmanuel Anglican Church, Adazi-Enu in Anaocha Local Government Area, where he alleged that a deacon serving in the church (who hails from Nawfia) indulged in sexual immorality with a female church member inside the church toilet.
Rev’d Enukora also alleged that the church leaders wanted to cover-up the said sexual immorality before he then exposed it last week, further alleging that the priest had started attacking him since he exposed his acts.
Speaking further, Ike Nawfia also accused another priest at St. Peter’s Anglican Church Amawbia of allegedly defiling a 10-year-old girl and trying to cover-up the crime, before it was exposed.
The Anglican clergy priest also revealed how another co-priest allegedly performed fake miracles by secretly burying a lizard in a church member’s compound, only to go there to exhume the dead lizard later, in the guise of holding family prayer and performing miracles. This, he said was deliberately staged by the priest to get more invitations for family prayers, get more offerings and donations as well as gain more followership, among other personal and selfish reasons behind his alleged deceitful acts.
Rev. Enukora went further to condemn other Illicit acts allegedly being perpetrated by “men of God” who he said, thereafter, would still proudly preach and administer holy communion to church members with the same ‘soiled hands’. He warned that such people desecrate the altar and temple of God and should always be exposed, rather than shielded, if the church of God must move forward and sanity be achieved in the society.
Although the clergy did not mention the names of the accused priests, his allegations and revelations during the burial preaching has, however, ignited and continued to attract a chain of reactions and counter-reactions on social media as netizens continue to share their thoughts on his choice of words, venue of the preaching, and his approaches to the issues, while several others laud his courage and call for his protection from possible attack by those who might have been offended by his preaching.
Rev’d Enukora, in the beginning of his allegations, introduced himself as a Police Force Chaplain, which is corroborated by online reports identifying him as a Superintendent of Police (SP).
However, further efforts by this reporter, Izunna Okafor, to confirm the priest’s identity as a police 6 and his service area proved abortive.
When contacted on Friday by this reporter, the Police Public Relations Officer of the Anambra State Police Command promised to make inquiries about the priest’s membership of the Force, but could not revert to the reporter with his findings as at the time of this publication.
Recall that a 34-year-old seminarian had sometime defiled a 10-year-old girl who went to invite him to her graduation ceremony in Enugwu-Agidi, Njikoka Local Government Area of Anambra State.
