The Security Director of Nibo Community in Awka South Local Government Area of Anambra State, Wadada has revealed that an only son of his parents, Mr. Uchenna Obiekwe, was among the persons gunned down in the bloodshed that occurred in the community on Sunday.
Recall that some yet-to-be-identified hoodlums, on Sunday afternoon, stormed the Oye Nwochichi Market Nibo and Eke Nibo Market, and opened fire on people, killing no fewer than ten persons.
The police in a statement issued on Sunday, attributed the incident to a cult-related clash between rival cult groups.
Wadada, in a viral voice note report on the incident, said late Mr. Obiekwe, who was yet to marry, was also one of his vigilante officers, adding that the deceased was on a patrol duty, mounting surveillance, in view of the grand finale of the Olili Ọnwa Asaa cultural festival of the community slated for the day, before the hoodlums struck and gunned him down after exchange of gunfire.
Continuing, the Security Director also revealed that a six-year-old was also hit by bullet during the attack, so also his father, simply identified as Echee, a shop owner at the Oye Market in the community, where the people first opened fire, killing scores.
While noting that the injured persons were immediately rushed to the hospital, he also added that the corpses of many of the murdered victims have been identified and carried by their relatives.

In another voice note that has gone viral on social media, one of the survivors of the attack recounted his near-death experience, adding that he was only saved by the Grace of God.
“…The person who shot the three people pointed the gun at me and was about to put trigger, before the other person now told him that I was not among…
“As he was about to pull up that trigger, he then pushed him down, and the bullets spashed on the wall behind me direct…,” he recounted, thanking God for miraculous saving him.
