Soludo Denies Inviting Native Doctor to Govt House to Inquire His Re-election Chances, Explains What Happened (Video)

By Izunna Okafor, Awka

The Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Charles Soludo, has strongly refuted the circulating claims that he consulted a native doctor over his re-election ambitions, describing the allegation as a deliberately distorted and malicious fabrication by desperate political opponents.

The refutal and clarification come amid the video that is currently trending on social media with allegations and claims that the Governor had invited a native doctor to the Government House to seek spiritual insights into his 2025 re-election chances.

However, in a statement issued on Wednesday, the Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr. Christian Aburime, dismissed the claim as utterly false and misleading.

Clearing the air and clarifying the context of the video, the State Government explained that the clip originated from an official event held at the Government House, Awka, involving Anambra-based content creators. The statement clarifies that the event was designed to foster collaboration between the Soludo-led administration and stakeholders in the state’s booming creative industry.

According to Aburime, during the interactive session, content creators were given the opportunity to display their talents, express their concerns, and propose ideas on how the government could further support the creative economy in Anambra. He explained that, during the time, one of the creators performed a comic skit dressed as a native doctor —a popular genre in the Nigerian comedy scene — to showcase his creative ability to the Governor and other top officials.

The Press Secretary emphasized that the skit was a purely theatrical performance, presented for entertainment purposes, and bore no connection whatsoever to spiritual consultation or re-election strategy. He decried what he described as the deliberate distortion of the clip by critics and political rivals who, he said, have chosen to engage in propaganda and misinformation instead of constructive dialogue.

“The State Government thus found it deeply disappointing that critics and political opponents would stoop so low as to deliberately fabricate malicious narratives from an innocent entertainment performance and spread misinformation to mislead the public,” the statement read

While reaffirming Governor Soludo’s confidence ahead of the 2025 election, Aburime said the Governor does not need any form of spiritual consultation to secure re-election. He said, instead, the Governor remains firmly rooted in the overwhelming support of Ndi Anambra, which he has earned through visible performance, people-oriented leadership, and progressive governance.

The statement also highlighted some of the administration’s achievements, including the ongoing implementation of the Solution Agenda and the recent commissioning of the Solution Fun City, a landmark project aimed at advancing the creative and entertainment sectors in the state.

The Government called on citizens, media platforms, and social media users to ignore the false narrative and refrain from spreading unverified information; while also encouraging the public to embrace truth, promote development-oriented conversations, and reject all attempts by political detractors to sow confusion through disinformation.

The statement concluded with emphasis on Governor Soludo’s committed to delivering transformative governance, adding that he will not be distracted by baseless antics or smear campaigns orchestrated by political elements who fear his rising popularity and progressive vision for Anambra State.
