The Board Chairman of the Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital, Anambra State, Hon. Ali Bukar Dalori hosted staff and management of the institution as part of his commitment to staff welfare and motivation.

Dalori in his remarks on Wednesday, June 24 after a facility tour said he was impressed with what he has seen, crediting the massive transformation to the CMD Prof. Joseph Ugboaja OON , whom he called a visionary leader.

“The projects I saw during my first working visit at the foundation level, were all completed and equipped with modern equipment. I am very happy that the CMD and his Management team have transformed the institution massively.

” I am the Board Chairman, but he is the CMD, we are working hand in hand, I am happy with him and the staff” he said.

The CMD Prof. Ugboaja in high spirits described the Board Chairman’s second visit to the hospital as a remarkable one in the sense it was the first time after he resumed duty as a second tenure CMD and also the opening of the Admin Block.

He revealed that real essence of his second visit was to encourage them and see things for himself.
He described Hon. Ali Bukar Dalori as an exceptional human being, a profound leader, who has a strong political reach and a very successful businessman, adding that beyond all he is a generous man.

Ugboaja strongly stated that they remain committed to actualizing their vision in 2030, noting that Dalori’s visit is part of effort towards actualization of their vision.

“By coming here, seeing things for himself, he will help us in our infrastructural development, collaborative efforts, human capital development initiative, and in resource mobilisation for further developmental projects.

Though, there are challenges, the CMD said they were not bothered about them, insisting that they see the challenges as clear opportunities.

On his relationship with his Staff , Ugboaja stated as a leader one has to bring sincerity and purpose to leadership, be honest and determined to make an impact, have a vision and be committed to that vision, tell yourself as leader I want to leave a legacy, be open and transparent, and above all be genuinely interested in people who are working with you, don’t play politics with them.
“As a leader, I believe that the highest resource available to you is the human resource not even the physical things you are seeing.

“Don’t play with them, be intentional about their welfare. Once you are intentional, they will trust you and be happy with you,” he further disclosed.
