Information reaching our report desk has it that voting is yet to start in any part of Ebenator community in Nnewi South Local Government Area of Anambra State, as at 10: 15AM, more than two hours after the scheduled time for the election kick-off.
The delay is unarguably contrary to the repeated assurances of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), which said election materials and officials would arrive early enough at the various polling units across the state.
The unfortunate and unexpected incident has also left over 1000 eager voters stranded at the various polling units across the community, as many of them came out to cast their votes, only to be left with empty stations.
More regrettable is the fact that today is the community’s market day, Orienwankwọ Market, but the voters left their businesses to go cast their votes. This has left many of them regretting why they shunned their businesses for election, as many of them may consider going home soon, given the sunny weather.
