By Our Correspondent

The Obidient General, Hon Ikenna AzomChine, recently paid a courtesy visit to Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, in a meeting centered on dialogue, nation-building, and the collective responsibility of Nigerians to contribute to the country’s progress.

While the visit has generated conversations in some quarters regarding possible political realignments ahead of the 2027 presidential election, the Obidient General was unequivocal in clarifying the position of the Obidient Movement under his leadership.

According to him, the Obidient Movement remains a nonpartisan civic organization whose sole mission is to drive, support, and promote initiatives that contribute to the development, stability, and progress of the Nigerian State.

He emphasized that the movement’s commitment is not to partisan interests but to the advancement of Nigeria and the well-being of its citizens. He further stated that meaningful national development can only be achieved through constructive engagement, collaboration, and a shared commitment to finding practical solutions to the nation’s challenges.

Addressing Seyi Tinubu during the meeting, the Obidient General reiterated that the Obidient Movement is open to dialogue and remains willing to work with governments at all levels in support of policies and initiatives that promote sustainable development and national progress.

He noted that while criticism has its place in a democracy, the movement believes that active participation and solution-driven engagement often produce more meaningful outcomes than standing on the sidelines. According to him, the objective is not merely to identify challenges but to contribute to solving them.

Drawing from recent experience, he cited the role played by the Obidient Movement under his leadership during the last Anambra State election, where its willingness to engage constructively with the state government and relevant stakeholders contributed to the peaceful, free, and credible conduct of the electoral process. He described the experience as evidence that collaboration and responsible civic participation can strengthen democratic institutions and deliver positive outcomes for the people.

The Obidient General further stressed that the movement remains committed to promoting good governance, accountability, democratic values, and citizen participation, regardless of political affiliations or differences.

The meeting was attended by notable personalities, including former Peter Obi Deputy Campaign Manager, Isaac Balami, respected stakeholders Manasseh Mutfwang and Ikechukwu Akonobi, reflecting a shared interest in conversations that advance national development and strengthen democratic engagement.

As Nigeria continues its journey toward greater prosperity and democratic consolidation, the visit served as a reminder that constructive dialogue, mutual respect, and a willingness to work together across political and ideological lines remain essential ingredients for nation-building.

The Obidient General reiterated that Nigeria’s progress must always take precedence over politics and that every stakeholder willing to contribute positively to the nation’s development deserves a seat at the table.

He expressed his delight at meeting Seyi Tinubu and commended his willingness to engage in conversations aimed at finding solutions to the challenges facing the country. According to him, Seyi’s interest in youth development and his attentiveness to issues affecting Nigerians present an opportunity for meaningful collaboration and positive impact.

The Obidient General noted that much can be achieved when young leaders and stakeholders come together with a shared commitment to national development. He therefore encouraged Obidients across the country to embrace constructive engagement, support initiatives that promote progress, and remain focused on the collective goal of building a better Nigeria for all.
