A three-storey commercial building at Nodu Market, situated behind Juhel Pharmaceutical Company in Anambra State, went up in flames on Thursday morning, prompting a swift response from the Anambra State Fire Service.
According to a press statement issued by the Media Unit of the Anambra State Fire Service, operatives arrived at the scene shortly after receiving the distress call and immediately deployed two firefighting trucks to combat the blaze. The Service noted that its officers made significant impact upon arrival and have been steadily bringing the fire under control.
Although the cause of the fire had not yet been established as at the time of filing this report, emergency personnel were fully on ground controlling and monitoring the situation to prevent an escalation or resurgence. No casualties have been officially confirmed, while assessments on the level of property damage are still ongoing.
The Fire Service further assured that more details will be made available to the public as investigations continue.
