You Can’t Compare Soludo, Obiano, Obi’s Administrations — Former Chief of Staff

By Izunna Okafor, Awka

A stalwart of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) and former Chief of Staff to Ex-Governor Willie Obiano, Chief Primus Odili, has asserted that there is absolutely nothing to compare between the administrations of the incumbent Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo, former Governor Obiano, and former Governor Peter Obi.

Chief Odili, who made the declaration while addressing journalists at the October Congress of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Anambra State Council, held at the Godwin Ezeemo International Press Centre, Awka, said the three administrations represent a continuum of progressive leadership under the same All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) platform.

He explained that each administration uniquely consolidated on the achievements of its predecessor, thereby maintaining consistency, stability, and growth in the state. He recalled that prior to Obi’s emergence as Governor, Anambra’s political climate was plagued by instability, with some members of the State House of Assembly not even having completed secondary school education.

According to him, Obi changed the narrative with the introduction of the Anambra Integrated Development Strategy (ANIDS), which laid strong foundations for holistic growth across sectors. He emphasized that Governor Obiano not only sustained but expanded those gains, particularly in security, infrastructure, and social welfare, before handing over to Soludo, who has also distinguished himself with bold innovations, especially in the area of infrastructural development and multi-sectoral transformation.

While stressing that Soludo has taken the baton higher, Chief Odili described APGA governments as a “development relay,” where the baton of progress has been consistently passed without disruption. He affirmed that Anambra has fared far better under APGA than it ever did under any other political leadership, adding that the party deserves to continue leading the state.

Beyond politics, Chief Odili, who is also the Convener of Okosisi for Soludo, also acknowledged the indispensable role of the press in democratic governance. He urged journalists to uphold truth, accountability, and fairness in their reportage, while always verifying information before publication. He reassured them of his continued support for the Union, reminding them that “the voice of the people is the voice of God.”
