‘Ọdịechi’ Charms, Guns, Others Recovered, As Security Force Kills Gunman During Gun Battle in Anambra

It was another gallant outting and successful operation in Anambra State, as police-led security force in the state gunned down one of the notorious hoodlums and criminal elements troubling the state.

The gunman, neutralized in the late hours of Sunday, was said to be operating around the Aguata area of the State, where he also met his waterloo, as his Ọdịechi charms could not even save him from the heavy bombardment of the gallant officers.

Confirming this in a statement issued to newsmen on Monday, the Police Public Relations Officer of the State, SP Ikenga Tochukwu, said the incident happened along the Igbo Ukwu/Ezinifite Uga axis, where a heavy gun battle ensued between the gunmen and the security force.

SP Ikenga, in the statement, further disclosed that assorted charms, guns, bullets, one vehicle with two different plate numbers, among other incriminating items were also recovered from the scene.

The statement reads: “On 29/9/2024, by 11:30 pm, the Police-led Security Force while on patrol within Aguata L.G.A., got information of suspected armed men sighted in a black-coloured Pardo Jeep along Igbo Ukwu/ Ezinifite Uga axis.

“The Operatives, on an offensive approach to the scene, engaged the armed men in a gun battle and demobilize one of the miscreants while others escaped. Also, the Security Forces recovered two AK 47 rifles, one pump action gun, two magazines loaded with live ammunition, fifteen live cartridges, one black Prado Jeep with two different plate numbers, two Police body armored vests, three face caps, one black handbag, and different types of criminal charms.

“Meanwhile, clearance operations are still ongoing, further details shall be communicated.”
