June 12: Soludo Has Delivered True Democracy to Ndi Anambra — Former Speaker, Okafor

By Izunna Okafor, Awka

As Nigerians mark the 2025 Democracy Day celebration today, June 12, former Speaker of the Anambra State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Uche Victor Okafor, has described Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo’s administration as the true embodiment of modern democracy in practice.

Rt. Hon. Okafor, in a special message commemorating the day, praised the leadership style of Governor Soludo, noting that his governance under the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has redefined democratic dividends across all sectors in the state.

According to him, the Governor’s people-centred approach to leadership has not only raised the bar of governance but also earned him widespread acceptance and admiration from the citizens of the state.

Highlighting Governor Soludo’s achievements since his assumption of office on March 17, 2022, the immediate-past Speaker acknowledged the visible transformation in different sectors of the state, such as infrastructure, education, health, security, commerce, and industrialization. He emphasized that the current administration exemplifies democracy in its purest form — government of the people, by the people, and for the people.

He noted that the Governor has remained restless in his pursuit of progress for Anambra, stating that Soludo has never gone to sleep since the day he took the oath of office.

“He has continued to deliver democratic dividends across the board, and in first-class standards,” he stated.

Rt. Hon. Okafor further attested that the achievements and goodwill of the Governor are paving the way for what he described as an inevitable and seamless second-term re-election come November 8, 2025. He also acknowledged the harmonious working relationship among the arms of government in the state, which he attributed to the Governor’s inclusive and collaborative style of leadership.

Dedicating the 2025 Democracy Day celebration to Governor Soludo, he congratulated him for deepening democratic principles in Anambra, and commended his commitment to service and transformational leadership.

“As we commemorate June 12 this year, I dedicate this Democracy Day particularly to Governor Soludo for embracing democracy in its true sense and for delivering real impact to the people,” he said.

Hon. Okafor also extended his good wishes to all Ndị Anambra and Nigerians at large, praying for continued peace, unity, and democratic consolidation across the country.
