The Senator representing Anambra North Senatorial District, Senator Dr. Tony Nwoye has expressed regrets over the death of the President General of Ohaneze Ndigbo Worldwide, Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, describing his death as a huge loss of a great patriot and elder statesman par excellence.
Senator Nwoye announced this in a statement made available to newsmen by his media team, in which he also described the passing of the Ohaneze PG as a great loss to Igbo race and end of an era in Igbo land.
He extolled the virtues of the late Igbo Leader, noting that he made remarkable impacts and significant contributions in various sectors, particularly in the social, sports, economic and political development of the country.
According to Senator Nwoye, the late elder statesman, AHAEJIAGAMBA NDIGBO, lived a purposeful life dedicated to the service of humanity, and will be remembered for his good deeds, philanthropism, bridge building and other worthy legacies.
The Senator also recalled that during his days as a student/youth activist, he benefited immensely from Chief Iwuanyanwu’s philanthropy, mentorship and kindheartedness.
He further prayed for the peaceful repose of the soul of the deceased.
Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, a Civil Engineer, was born on 4th September 1942. A politician and businessman considered as one of the richest Igbo men, Iwuanyanwu became the 11th President-General of Ohaneze Ndigbo, following the death of the former President-General, Professor George Obiozor.
Iwuanyanwu passed away on Thursday, July 25, after brief illness.
