Former Governor of Anambra State, Chief Willie Maduaburochukwu Obiano, has expressed deep gratitude to God, his family, and the people of Anambra State as he marked his 70th birthday, while also praying for more strength.

In a heartfelt message shared via his official social media handle on Friday, August 8, Chief Obiano, who left office as Anambra Governor in March 2022, reflected on his life’s journey, describing it as one shaped by divine grace through seasons of victories, challenges, and valuable lessons. He said he woke up on his birthday with a heart “full of gratitude,” acknowledging God’s unwavering hand in his life over the past seven decades.

“Seventy years ago, God began this journey and through every season — the victories, the challenges, the lessons — His hand has never left me,” Obiano wrote.

The former governor extended appreciation to his beloved family, friends, and “the wonderful people of Anambra State and Nigeria” for their love, prayers, and support over the years. He described serving the people of Anambra as “one of the greatest honours” of his life.

As he celebrated the milestone, Obiano offered prayers for renewed strength to continue contributing in his own “little way” to the progress of both Anambra State and the nation at large.

He also conveyed special thanks to everyone who sent goodwill messages to him on his birthday, writing in Igbo: “Daalu Rinne, Dalụ nke Ukwuu” — meaning “Thank you so much” — while also praying that God would bless them richly.

Obiano’s message was accompanied by hashtags that captured his reflective mood and gratitude: #GratefulHeart, #70YearsOfGrace, and #ThankYouLord.
