It was a gathering of political heavyweights, party loyalists, and enthusiastic supporters on Sunday, over the weekend at Ifite-Ogwari in Ayamelum Local Government Area of Anambra State, as former Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Uche Victor Okafor, Ph.D. hosted the National Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Barrister Sly Ezeokenwa, where he officially declared his support for Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo, CFR, and his Deputy, Dr. Onyekachukwu Ibezim, ahead of the November 8, 2025 governorship election in the state.

The well-attended grand political gathering, which held at Rt. Hon. Okafor’s country home in Ifite-Ogwari, was organized under the umbrella of the Uche Okafor Support Group, and attracted the presence of top APGA leaders, members of the Ayamelum Local Government Working Committee, ward executives, enthusiastic party faithful from across the area, and members of the royal cabinet, all united in their resolve to ensure the continuity of Governor Soludo’s “Solution” administration.

The occasion, which featured the defection of over ten foot soldiers of APC in Ayamelum into APGA, also doubled as a show of unity and time for appreciation of Ndị Ayamelum for their long-time support for APGA and the Solution Government in Anambra.

Speaking at the event, the host, Rt. Hon. Okafor, described the gathering as a reaffirmation of Ayamelum’s total loyalty to the All Progressives Grand Alliance and to Governor Soludo’s visionary, people-centered leadership.

He commended the Governor for his visionary and inclusive governance, as well as his outstanding performance across key sectors, including infrastructure, agriculture, education, health, and security, while also attesting that Ayamelum has been a major beneficiary of the ongoing developmental strides under the Solution Government.

Rt. Hon. Okafor further highlighted landmark projects such as rural road rehabilitation, improved school/hospital facilities, youth empowerment programmes, and the Governor’s support for farmers, which he said have significantly improved livelihoods in the agrarian local government.

While officially endorsing Governor Soludo and his deputy, Dr. Onyekachukwu Ibezim, for a second term, the former Speaker urged party members and residents of Ayamelum to remain steadfast and committed to the ideals of APGA. He called on the people to massively vote for APGA in the forthcoming November 8, 2025 governorship election, assuring that their continued support would consolidate the progress already recorded in the state.

According to him, Governor Soludo has shown capacity, vision, and integrity in leadership, and has restored hope and direction to Anambra.

“The only way we can sustain this momentum is to re-elect him to continue his transformational agenda,” Okafor stated.

He also used the opportunity to thank Ndi Ayamelum and party members for their support to him, to APGA candidates, and to the Governor during past elections, while reassuring them that their loyalty and sacrifices will continue to yield dividends of democracy.

Announcing that the Governor’s campaign train will soon arrive Ayamelum, Rt. Hon. Okafor urged the people to prepare to receive the Governor and demonstrate once again their unity and overwhelming support for the Solution Government.

In his remarks, the APGA National Chairman, Barrister Sly Ezeokenwa, applauded Rt. Hon. Uche Okafor and the people of Ayamelum for their steadfastness, unity, and commitment to the APGA cause. He expressed appreciation for their sustained support to Governor Soludo and the Solution Team, describing Ayamelum as a stronghold of the party.

Barrister Ezeokenwa reiterated that the APGA-led administration under Governor Soludo remains resolute in its mission to build a livable and prosperous homeland through inclusive governance, infrastructural renewal, and human capital development.

He further reassured the gathering of the party’s full readiness for the November 8 governorship election, declaring that APGA is not in competition with any political party in the state. According to him, come November 8, APGA will win in all 5,720 polling units across Anambra.

Barr. Ezeokenwa also affirmed confidently that the party’s message of performance, integrity, and continuity has already won the hearts of Ndi Anambra.

Aside other speeches by some stakeholders and testifiers of the Solution impact in Ayamelum, the event also featured chants of solidarity songs and special displays, as the people reaffirmed their loyalty to APGA and also reiterated their collective commitment to ensuring Governor Soludo’s re-election under the APGA banner and family.
