Fondly called ‘Enyioha’ —a befitting title that translates to ‘Friend of the Masses’ —Chief Okeke has, through his remarkable acts of kindness, generosity, and empowerment, earned a special place in the hearts of many. He has remained a pillar of support for youths, women, and the underprivileged, dedicating his time and resources to creating opportunities for others. Through various vocational training programs, skill acquisition initiatives, scholarships, and community development projects, he has empowered countless individuals, helping them find their footing in life and restoring dignity to families in need. A graduate of Banking and Finance from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, Chief Ugochukwu Okeke is a seasoned entrepreneur and astute administrator with an exceptional ability to revitalize businesses, drive economic initiatives, and manage human resources effectively. He sits on the Board of several engineering, commercial, and consulting firms, playing instrumental roles in their growth and expansion. His deep understanding of financial management and corporate strategy has made him a key player in the business world, where he has continued to make a significant impact.
Beyond the corporate world, he has proven to be a man of uncommon political consistency and unshakable loyalty. Unlike many who view politics as a mere transactional venture, Chief Okeke is driven by conviction and principle. Since his foray into politics, he has remained steadfast in his commitment to the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), demonstrating absolute loyalty and dedication to the party’s cause. His firm belief in the ideals of the party has seen him play pivotal roles in the party’s affairs at both the state and national levels. While others have switched allegiances from one political party to another for personal gain, he has remained unflinchingly devoted, solidifying his reputation as a true party man whose loyalty is never in question.
Over the years, he has held several key positions within the party, handling high-stakes responsibilities with exceptional competence. His contributions span various strategic roles, and his service record, positions and nominations include: ministerial nominee in 2014, gubernatorial aspirant in 2013 and 2021, Goodluck Jonathan Presidential Campaign Coordinator in 2015 (L.G.A. Level), and State Coordinator for the Anambra Governorship Election in 2017. He was also appointed the State Secretary of the PDP Caretaker Committee in Anambra after serving diligently as an Exco member in 2017.
Chief Ugochukwu Okeke’s political engagements extend beyond his home state, as he has also served as a member of the PDP State House of Assembly Committee in Kaduna, a member of the National Assembly Committee for Kebbi State, an organizer of the Enugu State Exco Election Committee in 2015, and the Secretary of the National Assembly Committee for Yobe State in 2016.
His contributions to national politics have been equally remarkable. In 2019, he was a key member of the PDP Presidential Campaign Council at both the Anambra State and national levels. In 2021, he served as Secretary of the Anambra PDP Governorship Campaign Council, and in 2023, he was once again a member of the PDP Presidential Campaign Council in Anambra State. Recognizing his steadfast commitment and invaluable contributions, he was appointed as a Member of the Board of Trustees of PDP in 2023, a position he holds till date.
Chief Ugochukwu Okeke is not just a politician; he is a leader whose career embodies integrity, resilience, and an exemplary demonstration and advocate of politics without bitterness.
