CP Orutugu Storms Onitsha, Addresses Serious Security Concerns in Anambra

As part of his strategies to further strengthen the synergy between the Anambra State Police Command and members of the public, the State Commissioner of Police, Anambra State Command, CP Ikioye Orutugu, has addressed some security concerns in the state, and restated the commitment of the Police to ensuring the safety of lives and property, while also calling for continued public support.

CP Orutugu made the call on Friday when he visited the Udala Radio Station 104.7 FM, Onitsha, as part of his ongoing strategic engagements with media platforms across the State aimed at fostering stronger police-public communication and building trust.

The visit, which also featured a live radio interaction, afforded the Police Commissioner the opportunity to address key security concerns raised by the public, while also updating them on various efforts of the Police to sustain peace and order in the State.

According to a press statement by the Anambra State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, the CP, during the programme, emphasized the importance of proactive community participation in policing, and also stressed the need for timely information sharing between the Police and residents of the State.

The statement noted that CP Orutugu further reassured residents of the Command’s commitment to transparency, professionalism, and accountability in the discharge of their duties, even as he urged the people of Onitsha and other parts of the State to remain vigilant and always report suspicious movements and criminal elements to security operatives around them.

He also expressed optimism that the synergy between the Police, the media, and the general public will go a long way in enhancing the fight against crime in the state.

The Anambra State Police Command, through the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, appreciated the support of the media and reiterated its call for continued collaboration with all stakeholders to maintain a safer Anambra.
