The Solution Youth-Preneurs Support Group (SYPSG), a network of beneficiaries of Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo’s 1Youth2Skills programme, has concluded its eight-day monitoring tour across the 21 local government areas of Anambra State, covering wards and communities in support of the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise.
The tour, which commenced on the first day of the CVR exercise, saw the SYPSG team traversing the length and breadth of Anambra State, engaging with registrants, observing the conduct of the exercise, identifying challenges, and sensitizing eligible youths on the importance of participating in the electoral process. The monitoring effort, widely commended, aimed to ensure that the voter registration was conducted transparently and hitch-free in alignment with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC)’s standards.
The comprehensive monitoring exercise climaxed on Wednesday with the Day-8 tour, during which the team covered various wards in Anambra East and Ayamelum LGAs. In Anambra East, the monitoring team visited Nsugbe Ward 2 and the Anambra East Collection Centre, while in Ayamelum LGA, they moved through Anaku Ward, Omor Ward 2, Omor Ward 3, among others.
Reflecting on the experience, the team described the 8-day exercise as an eye-opening and fulfilling mission that exposed both the strengths and gaps in the CVR process, noting that the visits were characterized by commendable turnouts of residents eager to participate in the electoral process. They, however, noted that while the enthusiasm of Ndi Anambra to register and obtain their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) was palpable, infrastructural deficiencies such as inadequate registration machines, persistent network issues, and slow capturing processes hindered many from completing their registration.
The team noted the remarkable enthusiasm of the people, attributing the heightened civic consciousness to the multifaceted developmental strides of the Soludo administration, which have continued to stir the citizens’ interest in political participation and governance.
Despite the conclusion of the physical monitoring exercise, SYPSG emphasized that their technical teams across the 21 LGAs would continue to provide support by guiding and sensitizing residents on how to leverage the online INEC portal for self-service options. These include voter transfers, corrections, and reprints for lost or damaged cards, which can easily be completed via smartphones, tablets, or computers by accessing https://cvr.inecnigeria.org/. The group stressed that this continuous technical support aims to ease the burden on registration centers and create more room for the enrollment of new registrants who may otherwise be hindered by time constraints or infrastructural inadequacies.
Given the team’s observations, the SYPSG has made a passionate appeal to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to extend the registration window beyond the slated July 17 deadline, considering of the overwhelming turnout and the evident eagerness of Ndi Anambra to participate in the upcoming November 8, 2025 governorship election.
The group argued that the ongoing surge in voter registration reflects the growing trust and hope citizens have in the Solution Government’s agenda, and it would be counterproductive to truncate such enthusiasm by ending the registration abruptly. They appealed for at least a one- or two-week extension to accommodate the remaining thousands of willing registrants who are yet to be captured, largely due to inadequate registration equipment and personnel.
The State Coordinator of SYPSG, Prince Chinedu Ofojebe, while commending all the coordinators across the 21 LGAs for their dedication and support, reaffirmed the group’s commitment to sustaining grassroots engagement. He reiterated that the Solution Government has rekindled hope among the youths and the wider populace, making the civic space vibrant once again, and as such, every eligible voter deserves an opportunity to secure their Permanent Voter’s Card (PVC).
He further acknowledged the relentless support of the Anambra State Government under Governor Soludo, the efforts of INEC, and the remarkable zeal exhibited by Ndi Anambra throughout the exercise. He noted that this synergy between government, civil society, and the people is not just indicative of the success of the 1Youth2Skills programme, but also an affirmation that Anambra youths have embraced the “Youth O’Clock” philosophy.
The SYPSG reaffirmed that its technical teams remain on standby in every LGA to assist residents in navigating the INEC online portal for the completion of their voter registration-related processes without stress. This, according to the group, is part of their broader strategy to ensure no eligible voter is disenfranchised due to logistical shortcomings or avoidable bottlenecks in the system.
As the CVR exercise winds down on Thursday, the SYPSG re-echoed the call on INEC to heed the voice of the people by extending the registration period to accommodate the massive interest from citizens, especially the youths who are now better enlightened and equipped to drive participatory democracy in Anambra State, because Solution Is Here.
