EFSA: Chief Benjamin Arinze Chinemelu Ezeonyeololu Nominated as Industrialist of the Year 2026

Chief Benjamin Arinze Chinemelu Ezeonyeolulu is a distinguished Nigerian industrialist, entrepreneur, and visionary business leader whose remarkable journey from humble beginnings to industrial prominence exemplifies resilience, discipline, and strategic growth.

His entrepreneurial path began in the early 1980s after years of apprenticeship in Kaduna and Benin City. With a modest capital of just ₦1,400, he started trading in cement and building materials, laying the foundation for what would become a thriving business empire. Despite early setbacks—including financial loss and personal hardship during his first attempt to establish himself in Lagos—he persevered with determination and rebuilt his business from scratch.

By the late 1980s, he re-established himself in Lagos, venturing into motor spare parts before transitioning into the provisions business, which experienced significant growth. His expansion into international trade saw him importing goods from Europe, particularly London, and later diversifying into large-scale importation.

In 1990, he founded Chinbell Industry Limited, which has grown into the Chinbell Group, a conglomerate with interests spanning manufacturing, importation, real estate, and hospitality. Today, the company operates across major Nigerian commercial hubs including Lagos, Abuja, Kano, Onitsha, and Aba.

Chief Ezeonyeolulu is a key player in Nigeria’s manufacturing sector, particularly in the production of foil and food packaging materials, employing over 250 staff at his factory in Lagos. He is also recognized as one of the leading importers of premium honey in Nigeria, with multiple established brands under his portfolio.

His entrepreneurial journey has not been without challenges. A major factory fire in 2008 tested his resilience, yet he emerged stronger, rebuilding and expanding his operations. His ventures now include Chinbell Luxury Hotel in Lekki Phase 1, further diversifying his business footprint.

Beyond business, he is deeply committed to human capital development. He has sponsored scholarships and empowered numerous young individuals, helping many establish successful careers and businesses. His leadership philosophy centers on integrity, discipline, and investment in people.

A former Chairman of the Oraukwu community in Lagos for nine years, during his tenure, he foresee the complete construction and election of a gigantic 3 storey town hall building in Oraukwu with 39 offices used for commercial purposes for the benefit of the community. He singlehandedly donated the first security van to his community. Being a man whose interest in the things of God is strong, He also ensures to see the building of St. Albert de Great Catholic Church, Oraukwu completed and dedicated. Chief Ezeonyeolulu combines business excellence with community leadership, demonstrating a strong commitment to societal development.

With a structured lifestyle that balances work, fitness, and annual international vacations, he maintains a forward-looking vision for expansion, including plans to extend his industrial base to Nigeria’s South-East region.

Married to a supportive and business-driven partner who actively manages key aspects of the enterprise, he leads a close-knit family with four accomplished children, all contributing to the broader vision of continuity and growth.
