A Nigerian pastor, identified as Pastor John Ogbonna, has reportedly died on top of a mountain while allegedly fasting and praying for the good of the country.
The pastor, who hailed from a town in Ohaozara Local Government Area of Ebonyi State, reportedly died on a lonely mountain in Abuja, where his corpse was later discovered.
This was corroborated by a video currently trending on social media, showing the dead body of the supposed pastor as it laid on the said mountain that is located along Arab Road in Abuja, together with his footwear, cloth, bag, water bottle, and some other items.
A masculine voice in the background of the video, who identified the corpse, was also heard, urging on the members of the public to help spread the video to get to the relatives of the Pastor.
While it is not yet clear how many days Pastor Ogbonna had fasted before his death; reports have it that the Pastor had recently embarked on a spiritual retreat to seek divine intervention for the various woes befalling Nigeria as a country; but however died in the process.
As at the time of filing this report, no official statement has been made by the police on the incident, while the identity of the pastor’s church is yet to be revealed.
